The Egg Harbor Township Board of Recreation Commissioners is composed of seven members and two alternates appointed by the Township Committee. The Board is responsible for setting policy that affects Parks and Recreation for the residents of Egg Harbor Township. The Members are:

Current registration information will be posted on the home page of the website (ehtgov.org). Depending on the program, some information may change to accommodate the participants and instructors.
The Recreation Department advertises through local papers and seasonally four times a year in the CURRENT of Egg Harbor Township. Under normal conditions, registration is held the following months of the year:

All recreation programs are open to Egg Harbor Township residents on a first-come, first-serve basis. Non residents may register, unless otherwise noted, on the last day of registration if space is still available. Registration is held at the Community Center located at 5045 English Creek Avenue. Registration is in person only, unless so noted. Please note that some programs have special age requirements.

LIFE GUARDING CLASSES
American Red Cross LIFE GUARD TRAINING classes are held periodically during the year. For the next scheduled class please contact the Recreation Department.
WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR CLASS

This program is open to boys ages 8 thru 17 (Age as of 10/1). Registration is held in early September and late October (space permitting) of each year. Games and practices are held at the Dr. Joy Miller Elementary School on Alder Avenue and the EHT Community Center located at 5045 English Creek Avenue . The league is divided as follows: 8/9 years old, 10/11 years old, 12/13 years old, and 14 to 17 years old. (Egg Harbor Township residents only)
This workout blends elements of boxing, martial arts and traditional aerobics into a 45 minute
exercise routine. 18 Years and older. Will need a set of hand weights (3 to 5 pounds) and water.
This program is offered year round. See registration information for exact dates.
The Egg Harbor Township Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring coaching
certification USING THE American Sport Education program (ASEP).
The course is for individuals with an interest in or actively involved in coaching youth sport teams.
The course will focus on the fundamentals needed to coach any youth sport successfully.
Participants will learn the responsibilities of being a coach; effective methods of teaching sport
skills; how to send positive messages to athletes; how to conduct a safe program and manage risks,
and much more.

Dance instruction classes are available to participants four to 16 years of age in Introduction to Dance classes. The classes are held at the Community Center (5045 English Creek Avenue between Ocean Heights Avenue and West Jersey Avenue) during the evenings for 18 to 20 weeks, with a presentation being held at the end of each session. Registration for this program is taken during the winter and summer sessions only.

All day trips leave from the Egg Harbor Township Municipal building located at 3515
Bargaintown Road. Seats are limited, so please register early. ANYONE BETWEEN THE AGE OF
10 AND 18 MUST HAVE AN ADULT ACCOMPANY THEM. Registration will be taken by phone by
the EHT Recreation Department, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 9:00 am 4:00 pm.
Payment (separate check for each trip) must be received within four (4) working days of
making reservation. Checks are made payable to EHT and mailed to EHT Recreation, 5045
English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234. For additional information please
contact the Recreation Department at 272-8120.
Refunds will only be given if cancelation is made 10 working days in advance of trip.

The beginners program will introduce the participant to the fundamentals of the art of Fencing. The continuing program expands on the fundamentals learned in the beginning program. The program is open to participants ten through sixteen years of age. The program is held at the EHT Community Center located at 5045 English Creek Avenue during the evening hours.
This is an instructional program for girls 9 to 14 Year Olds. This program will teach the fundamentals of field hockey. The program is held on Saturday mornings in the Fall and Spring and on Tuesday evenings in the Summer.
An instructional program to provide the participants with the fundamentals of the game of football (no contact). This program is open to participants six to fourteen years old. Registration is held during either our summer or fall registration, watch our web page or The Current of EHT. The program runs September through November. The program is held on Saturday mornings at Veterans Memorial Park.
(Crafts - Exercise)
This program consists of floor exercises and a craft project for boys and girls five
to ten (5 to 10) years old. The program is offered during our winter, spring,
summer and fall sessions.
Our Junior Wrestling program is open to participants six to fourteen years old. Registration is held in, June, September and late October. Practices are held at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center, 5045 English Creek Avenue. The team participates in the South Jersey Wrestling Association and competes with area teams and travels to various tournaments. Parents are encouraged to participate in the Junior Wrestling Booster Club. The Booster Club meets regularly at the Community Center. They also sponsor an annual tournament each January. (Egg Harbor Township residents only)
Karate instruction classes are available to participants six years old through adults. New students can register in March and September only, space provided. Those wishing to receive training to earn their white, yellow, orange, green, light blue, brown, purple, red, red with stripe, dark blue, black and degrees in black belts can register for our Advanced classes in January and June only. Classes are held at the EHT Community Center (5045 English Creek Avenue between Ocean Heights Avenue and West Jersey Avenue). (Egg Harbor Township residents only)
American Red Cross LIFE GUARDING classes are held periodically during the year. For the next scheduled class please contact the Recreation Department. This course will teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. This course includes First Aid and CPR for the Professional.
This program features jugglers, clowns, puppet shows and magicians. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy. The program is held on Monday morning at Veterans Memorial Park (next to the library) during the summer months. In the event of inclement weather we will move to one of the area schools. No registration required for this program.
An instructional program to provide participants Kindergarten through 2nd Grade with the fundamentals of the sport of basketball. The program is held at the EHT Community Center gym during the months of January, February and March on Saturday mornings. Registration will be held in January (Winter Session).
This program is an instructional intramural program for participants five to ten years of age. This program is held at the Slaybaugh Soccer field on Saturday mornings. The program is offered during the spring, summer and fall.
3 TO 5 YEARS OF AGE
This program will introduce children to a variety of different exercises in a structured, safe
environment.
Teach children that physical activity is fun.
Introduce and encourage age-appropriate gross motor skills, body awareness and correct
posture at all times.
Teach children the importance of warm-up and stretching to help prevent injuries.
Teach the importance of good sportsmanship and team work when playing games.
This program is for participants Kindergarten through 5th grade. The program is held for seven (7) weeks during the months of June, July and August, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Sports and Activities participants participate in sport programs, arts and craft activities, science projects, games, roller skating, beach days and trips to various parks. The program is held at one of the area schools and the EHT Community Center. Registration for this program begins in March. Space is limited to 40 participants per program.
Let It Snow! Whether it is a solo venture, team effort or a family affair, have some fun during
the winter and enter this annual contest. To enter, you send a photograph of you (family)
standing next to your snowman/snow sculpture, which was built in Egg Harbor Township
between December and March to the Egg Harbor Township Department of Parks and
Recreation, 5045 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234. Each entry must have
the following information written on or affixed to the back of each photograph: name, address,
phone number, age group, category entered and date built. (Egg Harbor Township residents
only)
This program provides the opportunity for our residents who are physically and/or mentally challenged to go fishing. We spend the afternoon fishing on board a local fishing charter boat. An awards ceremony and banquet follow the day of fishing and is held in August. There is no fee for this program.
Tennis instruction classes are available to participants eight years old and up, as well as adults. Classes are held at the tennis courts located at the Tony Canale Park and Veterans Memorial Park during the spring, summer and fall on Saturday mornings.
6TH – 8TH GRADE AND ADULTS
Instructional Volleyball for 6th thru 8th grade. Adult volleyball will be recreational pickup games
with teams organized on a weekly basis. NO LEAGUE PLAY. Held in Spring and Fall.
A flow of postures with emphasis on body awareness, alignment and coordination of breath and movement. Students are encouraged to practice at their own level, using variations and modifications to give postures more or less challenging. Please bring a mat and/or towel.
