The Department of Planning and Development consists of several agencies associated with providing development services to the residents, business owners, and taxpayers of Egg Harbor Township.
These agencies include:
- The Planning Board, Zoning Board, and Environmental Commission which process and review all land development applications, formulate master plan review and adoption.
- Through the Building Inspections Department, we issue permits, perform inspections for all residential, commercial and industrial development making sure all construction meets the requirements of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, as well as, enforcing the Township’s Municipal Ordinance requirements for both Zoning and Property Maintenance.
- The mission of the Division of Fire Inspections is to educate and ensure Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide, and Portable Fire Extinguisher are available upon the sale or rental of all residential units and provide inspections on a yearly basis to all non-life and life hazard uses within the Township.
All services provided by the Department of Planning and Development encourage and promote, public health, safety, and community growth in a manner that protects the Township and enhances the quality of life for our residents.
