Community Policing


The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is committed to community partnerships, transparency, and accountability.  Our agency promotes a philosophy of using community partnerships and problem-solving techniques to proactively address public safety concerns that may arise.

 The Community Policing Officer is Patrolman Edward Bertino ebertino@ehtpd.com  609-926-4040  

Officer Bertino began his policing career in the fall of 2003.  He has held the positions of Patrol Officer, Juvenile Diversion Officer, Egg Harbor Township High School Resource Officer, and he was on the Atlantic County Regional SWAT Team for 10 years.  Officer Bertino’s primary function is coordinating the agency’s community policing efforts.  Additionally, he assists in our agency’s Training Unit.  He is a firearms instructor for both departmental qualifications and recruits qualifications at the Atlantic County Police Training Center.  Officer Bertino is proud to be a part of the community policing programs including, School-Based Programs, Community Events/Programs. and D.A.R.E
